My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB June 5, 2013.

Sabrina is a beautiful and gentle soul. She has extra toes on her front right paw (polydactyl), so Ernest Hemingway would have loved her too. Sabrina is one of the 60 cats rescued by Humane Society International in Quebec who partnered with Toronto Cat Rescue in December 2014 to bring these lovely babies to Toronto for fostering and eventual adoption.

Sabrina is very alert and watches everything. It took some time after arriving in her foster home to come out of her shell and show her amazing personality. She is now starting to run a lot and play. She's not at the point that she likes to be held and touched. If she doesn't see a hand coming at her to pat her she's fine and loves being stroked from behind. She still runs away if you approach her to touch or pick her up. It will take time for her to get over her fears. However, at night she cuddles up to her foster mom's legs all night. She is very quiet, rarely meows, but like a true lady, she has a voice when she wants something.

She is smart and independent, so would do well in a single-cat family. It took awhile for her to be accepted by the resident house cats but now they are buddies and sleep on the bed close to each other.
Due to her quiet nature, she will likely do better in a home without small children. It is a great reward to work with a shy cat and have them blossom from your love and patience. If you are a caring, peaceful person looking for a true companion, please adopt Sabrina.
