Hey guys, what's up! My name is Buster and I'm happy to meet you. I am a 7 year old Chug which means I am a Chihuahua and Pug mix. I know, I'm super awesome!

Are you looking for a dog that likes to sit in your lap. What about a dog that loves to go on walks but will still curl up on the couch? I'd love to tell you about my quirks if you have a minute. If you are able to look past these, then I can show you unconditional love!

I was brought to the shelter with a few other friends and now i'm patiently waiting to find my best friend. Since I have part Chihuahua in me, I know exactly what my ticks are. I know it makes people nervous but I think it's because when you touch me by my butt, it hurts me from when I might have been abused.

I'd love to find a home that will give me time to trust them. I would like to curl up to just you so, I would do best only in a home with no other animals or children. Once again, it takes me a little time to warm up to you so you won't be able to pick me up and love on me after a few minutes of meeting. Give me time and I'll be forever grateful.

I am up to date on shots, housetrained, micro-chipped, and neutered.

About Concerned Citizens for Animals

About Our Shelter...

CCA was founded in 1980 by a small group of individuals dedicated to helping animals. Since then, our group has grown to include a small shelter which houses approximately 19 dogs and 13 cats. Our group's mission is varied: to maintain a shelter for abandoned, sick or injured animals; to adopt out dogs and cats to loving permanent homes; to provide for their animals low-cost spay/neuter assistance to families who lack the means to pay; and to strive to prevent and to stop abuse and/or neglect of an animal.

We are always in need of volunteers! If you are interested in becoming a part of our group, please let us know by calling 864.243.4222. We'd be glad to have you on board!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Any person interested in adopting an animal from CCA is welcome to visit our shelter; however, we prefer that an appointment be made prior to visiting.

To gain more exposure for our adoptables, CCA participates in the following:

Please check our calendar at Meetup.com/concernedcitizensforanimals for additional adoptions events.

Our Adoption Process...

CCA's adoption process begins with a written application. Upon submission of the application, our Adoptions Team evaluates it, including both personal and vet references. After approval of the application, a home visit is scheduled. If the home visit turns out satisfactorily, we make the adoption. Each adoption is a group decision.

A contract is always signed by both parties. One copy is for the adoptive family, and the other remains at CCA.

The fee for adopting a dog is $100; for cats, the fee is $75. All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. In addition, they are micro-chipped, are current on all vaccinations, are heartworm negative and on preventative medicine. They are also on monthly preventative medicine for fleas.

Cats are spayed or neutered prior to adoption as well. They are current on vaccinations, and they receive flea preventative medicine as well.

Please note that CCA is an organization of volunteers, many of whom work full-time jobs. While we make every effort to return all calls promptly, please allow up to 24 hours for us to return your call.
