My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am Hemingway! I'm a 2-year-old neutered male Papillon mix. I weigh approximately 15 pounds.

I'm a really sweet guy with a lot of love to give. If you're looking for a dog with a superb personality and looks to match then there is no reason for you to continue searching the internet. You should totally come meet me. You won't be disappointed!

I'm playful, inquisitive, and very outgoing. I get along really well with everybody I meet - people and dogs alike! Making friends is kind of my specialty. If you need help in that area or just have a little bit a hard time approaching people, I'm the perfect pup for the job. Everywhere you take me people will flock to us. I'm that awesome!

You're probably asking yourself why I am looking for a new home if I'm so amazing. That's a valid question. I'll do my best to explain what happened to me.

At the beginning of February I was brought into a local high-kill shelter. The people who brought me in said that I was a stray. I was in pretty terrible shape so most likely it's true. I had probably been a stray for a while. I had an ear infection in both ears, my toenails on my front paws were overgrown, and to top it all off, I had large spot on my rump that was irritated and missing hair. I was so itchy that I was mutilating my backside. It was awful!

I was at the shelter for a week when I got the best news of my life. CageFree was rescuing me! They sent me to see their private vet immediately. While I was there, my doctor found out that my prostate was enlarged due to an infection. They told me that sometimes that can happen with male dogs that aren't neutered. Lucky me! Thankfully though, my doctor put me on all the necessary medication to address my ears, the bald spot on my rump, and the enlarged prostate. I already feel so much better! I''m expected to make a full recovery. Before you know it, I'm going to be back to my normal self!

Do you think you have room for me in your life? I'd really love a warm home with a comfortable bed and a nice family to love me unconditionally. If you think I am the right fit, please contact CageFree and tell them you want to meet me!
