Baxter is a 30 pound package of love, playfulness and good looks.  Six years old, Baxter is a  neutered  male, Poodle mix.  He does very well with other dogs, both big and small.  He’s also friendly with new people and settled right into his foster home.  He is a terrific car companion and is crate trained.  He loves being with people; just sitting next to them, but also has a great time playing outside.  Baxter was surrender at a Northern California shelter.  His owner was diagnosed with a life  threatening  illness and could no longer care for him.   Baxter is somewhat overweight; most likely do to the owner’s illness and inability to exercise him regularly.   With a little less food and more walks and exercise, Baxter should be in swimsuit shape in no time.   He is currently being fostered in Sacramento but appointments can easily be arranged at our Walnut Creek kennel so you can meet him and fall in love with this cutie pie.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baxter, a Walnut Creek Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Miniature) for sale in Walnut Creek, or seeking a Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Walnut Creek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Walnut Creek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Walnut Creek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Walnut Creek paves the way for another one to be saved.
