Olivia is an unusual looking dog with a heart of gold. This 35-40 pound unique girl is great with other dogs, cat curious but not aggressive, and gentle. She is house trained, crate trained, and although she can be a little reserved at first she quickly warms up and is ready to be part of the family. Olivia walks well on the leash, rarely barks, and clearly shows prior training. She was an uncaimed stray who was not reclaimed, and we suspect it is because she is heartworm positive. HHK9 will be treating her before placement and at her young age, she will quickly be back to 100%. Olivia is learning what toys are and enjoys playtime. With training, she has the potential to be a therapy dog, she has the right personality for it.
This HHK9 canine has tested positive for a heartworm or tick borne disease and treatment will be done through our vet before an adoption is finalized, so that we can do our part to ensure a healthy happy dog joins your home. Heartworm treatment consists of a 2 day treatment at the vet followed by 4 weeks of restricted activity, and placement timing is on an individual case by case at the comfort level of the foster and adopter. Tick diseases are treated through oral antibiotics sent home with an adopter by the rescue.
