Benton's Story...
Benton is an adorable, 21 pound, blond, male cocker spaniel. He is guesstimated to be 1-2 years old and unfortunately tested heartworm positive. We are handling this by keeping him on an Ivermectin based heartworm prevention until he tests negative for heartworms, which should be within 1-2 years (or less). Once he tests negative he will no longer have any restrictions as to what type of heartworm prevention he can use. The groomer fell in love with him, telling us that he is a real sweetheart! He will be neutered and brought up to date on vaccinations as soon as we can get him scheduled for his surgery. He’s good on a leash, good in the car and gets along well with other dogs. He loves to sleep in bed with his foster mom and he is working hard on his house manners. If you would like to adopt Benton and give him a great home please visit www.arfarkansas.com to find the link to our on line adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Benton, a North Little Rock Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in North Little Rock, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in North Little Rock.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in North Little Rock already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a North Little Rock breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in North Little Rock paves the way for another one to be saved.
