Kiwi's Story...
Kiwi, a female Quaker born in 2004, can be a naughty little girl if you let her rule the roost. When allowed free flight, she may attack people she doesn't like. In our rescue with her wings clipped, she seems to be pretty sweet and will talk and let us hold and pet her.

Our birds are not available for breeding and we do not ship birds. Potential adopters must call 816-356-4700 for an appointment, and must fill out an adoption application and pass a screening interview to ensure that our birds are going to a safe home. There is usually a 48 hour waiting period after your interview before you are allowed to adopt because we want people to take time and think thru their decision.

Adoption fee for this bird is $75

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kiwi, a Grandview Parakeet - Quaker was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Parakeet - Quaker for sale in Grandview, or seeking a Parakeet - Quaker from a breeder in Grandview.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grandview already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grandview breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Parakeet - Quaker breeders who help with Parakeet - Quaker rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grandview paves the way for another one to be saved.
