Sandy's Story...
Sandy and her siblings came to us from Kansas City Kansas Animal Control.  We guess that she was born around March 28th.  She is a sweety!  She is very used to dogs and cats and adjusts easily to new surrounding, given a proper introduction of course.  Sandy and her siblings are still too small to release.  We can release our cats or kittens once they have been spayed or neutered which we can safely do once they weigh two pounds.  Most kittens weigh two pounds when they are about 9-10 weeks of age.  Sandy and her siblings will probably be big enough to release around the end of May.  You can visit Sandy and her siblings at Mariposa Vet Clinic on weekends.  We are currently accepting applications and once you have an approved application we require a $25.00 deposit to hold her until she can be spayed.  Her adoption fee is $85.00 which includes her spay, plus she will be current on vaccinations, tested for feline leukemia and current on flea and worm treatments.  You will also receive a free well exam at one of our participating Vets.  For more information or for an application so you can get pre-approved, just call 913-422-1911 or e-mail kittycityks@aol.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sandy, a Lenexa Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Lenexa, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Lenexa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lenexa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lenexa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lenexa paves the way for another one to be saved.
