My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COOKIE is a 6 year old neutered black female Lab who weighs 55 pounds. Cookie is enjoying the snow and loves to roll in it! She is settling in nicely. She's already found her favorite spot in the house, the bed! She's quite skilled at cuddling, what a sweet girl. Cookie is a frosted sweetheart! She is looking for a family to give her the love, time and attention that she deserves! She was found in the Eastern Shore and a Good Samaritan brought her home and tried to locate her owners, but nobody went looking for her. Cookie is good with other dogs. From foster: Cookie is doing great. She rides really well in the car and did great meeting the resident Labs. She knows some commands, like "sit" and "down". She takes treats very gently. She as very nice house manners and she appears to be house trained. She walks pretty well on the leash. She loves to give kisses. She is approved for kids 10+.

Update (6/3): Cookie is a sweet long-haired black female pup. She gets along well and enjoys playing with other dogs. Cookie has also lived well with a dog-savvy cat. She would love to have a fenced yard to explore and a comfy sofa to hang out on. Some of her favorite things are going for car rides and playing with other dogs. Cookie is very expressive and loves to be with her people.

Update (5/5): Cookie is looking for a family where someone isn't gone for a long work day. She needs a solid fenced yard as she startles easily with loud noises. Her adoptive family will need to be careful when opening doors so that Cookie isn't accidentally let outside.

Update (4/23): Cookie is doing well in her foster home! She is currently recovering from heartworm treatment. She is good with cats! Cookie has really settled in. She actually likes her crate a lot and goes in on her own often. She's also a big fan of the love seat. She is really doing well. Her fosters love her so much and she and the cat have even become friends.

Update (3/27): Hi! My name is Cookie and I am waiting for my new human to look into my eyes and fall in love. I am great in the house and know that the bathroom is outside. I like little dogs and car rides. I even like being an office mate during the week. I love treats and little boys too! But I would LOVE to have a home and humans to call my own. Come on who doesn't want a sweet Cookie?!

Update (2/27): Cookie continues to do well. She is happy and friendly when meeting dogs of all sizes. She even charmed the vet this week while getting boosters and her spay stitches removed. Cookie is keeping herself busy until she meets her forever adopters by investigating the yard for squirrels, rolling in the snow, being an office dog and sleeping. She is an easy dog with moderate energy – meaning she is ready whenever you want to go outside or for a walk and settles well in the house. She is good on a leash and is house trained. She loves men, women, kids, and other dogs (still unknown on the cat situation). She loves to go for car rides and likes to sleep most of the time. Cookie likes to sit in front of you so she does not miss out on any treats or affection. Like her name, Cookie is a very sweet girl.

Update (2/20): Cookie is adjusting to being in a foster home well. As her name suggests, Cookie is very sweet and gentle. She loves kids, small dogs (hasn’t yet met a large one while she has been at her foster home), snuggling up on beds and sofas and snow. In fact, she LOVES snow. She does not even notice the cold because of her long hair, so she happily spends her time outside exploring, rolling in and eating the snow. She has been eating well, appears to be house-broken and rides well in the car. When she greets you and when she is happy, she gives a big smile and shows you her pretty white teeth and when she wants your attention she barks for you. Cookie is a happy girl would love a home where she can explore in a fenced yard and sleep in a comfy bed.
