Petals's Story...
Hello, my name is Petals, and I am a beautiful tortoiseshell cat, also known as a “Tortie”, but I assure you I do not have “Tortie-Tude”. My fur is very plush like a stuffed toy which makes me squishy soft to pet. I’m a smart little girl who recognizes the volunteers who come to visit me at the FOHA cattery. When I’m out on the screened porch and see the volunteer that I know as “The Chicken Lady” walking down the path, I let out a loud meow greeting and run inside to greet her at the door, knowing she is bringing me chicken for my special treat! I love pets and treats and laser lights, oh my! But most of all I would love to have my own family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Petals, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
