My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Vincent is a miracle dog. He is a one-eared Chihuahua mix who is around 3 - 4 years old, weighing 10 lbs. After a whole life on the street, being attacked by other dogs, ignored or kicked by people, starving and itchy, he is remarkably well adjusted. He does not hold a grudge, and still likes other dogs although he doesn't really know how to play (though he will chase a ball occasionally)
We don't know how Vincent lost his ear, and he has some signs of premature aging, including pulmonary hypertension, and some allergies, but this chihuahua mix is otherwise happy, healthy and a joy to be around! He will need to have regular visits with a cardiologist for the rest of his life to monitor his health.
Having filled out to about 11lbs, Vincent seems sensitive to beef protein, and has some broken teeth, but is thriving on a raw diet or lamb, turkey and rabbit.
Vincent is housebroken through the night, and usually spot on during the day, if not left alone too long. He is still occasionally marking, but does not mind wearing a belly band.
This adorable guy is very mellow, has learned to snooze during most of the day, and prefers to be near you (although not typically on you) when you are home. He would prefer someone who is home often, or who can take a quiet guy to a quieter office. He LOVES a peanut butter filled kong, and is very treat motivated.
Vincent is sort of like an old cat. He is happy to see you but he doesn't typically respond when you try and call him. His hearing is fine, he's just not accustomed to being spoken to!
Vincent's favorite things are a good cuddle, toddling around a safe, fenced yard, watching TV (really!) and his memory foam bed and blankey.
