Facts about Mystery

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 36299

This handsome fellow was rescued in 2010, after spending his early life in an overcrowded shelter in Clarksdale, MS. Unlike most of the other dogs we assumed from that shelter, there was simply no backstory for sweet Mystery. Maybe he was found on a dusty back road, or perhaps he showed up at some kindly farmer's doorstep. All we know is that he fell into our care nearly FIVE years ago, and the only mystery that we care about solving now is why no one has adopted this handsome boy yet. His adorable grey face belies his age; he's only 5-6 years old and still quite vibrant. He is friendly with other dogs, especially his pen-mate Keira. Mystery is still quite timid around people, perhaps the residue of his unknown origins. That said, he is more than happy to get some attention -- he's very calm around people and seems to relish the love. He's also quite silly, often crawling around in the grass on his belly, with his curly black tail squiggling back and forth. The first few years of Mystery's life have been unpredictable and strange, but it is very clear that he is just waiting to discover his true identity. Won't you help him find it??
