My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"The future looks extremely bright indeed, with lots of possibilities ahead - big possibilities. Like the song says, We've just begun." - Bruce Lee

The future for Bruce just keeps getting brighter and brighter. He has gone from a pup out of time at the shelter to a well loved foster in rescue. Bruce is a big gentle goof ball according to his foster mom. She thinks he may have had some training prior to ending up at the shelter (we still can't figure out why he ended up there). He mastered sit and shake within 5 minutes. Prior training or just very smart? Either way Bruce has it going on. Bruce is somewhere between 18 months and 2 years old. He's a BIG beautiful Black Labrador Retriever boy at 63 lbs with a perpetual smile. Bruce has come a long way in learning how to be an indoor dog. He mastered the stairs after a few nervous tries but he did it. Now when he goes up the stairs he turns around and smiles like YEAH! I DID IT!! He is doing well with his house training. He was never taught so time and patience are essential. No doubts he will master this as he is very eager to please. Bruce does well in his crate once coaxed in by way of treats. He LOVES to play fetch with the two legged human pups in his foster home, he even brings the toys back. He is an active boy and will need regular exercise so no couch potatoes for this love bug. He is a dream on leash, behaves well and responds to cues such as stopping or pausing. After lots of play time he is very happy and excited so it does take awhile for him to settle down. His foster mom says she is working on this with him and presently calms him down through crating. Bruce is already neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and current on all preventatives. The possibilities are endless with this sweet, friendly, affectionate, gentle boy. He just needs a forever home that is willing to afford him the time and patience he will need to further his training. The rewards from the loyalty and love of Bruce will undoubtedly be ten fold. And yes, like the song says 'We've just begun'.
