Boston's Story...
Tuxedo Boston was part of a colony that we helped to TNR this past summer. The second cat to join us is Boston. She was shy and scared at first but is slowly starting to make herself at home. She is interacting with her fosterers more and hiding less. She has started to vocalize to her fosterers and she enjoys looking out the window when there are birds outside and playing enthusiastically with toys.

Boston’s patient fosterers report that she is making slow but clear progress every day. Boston has been spayed, tested, vaccinated and chipped and is ready for adoption by someone who will give her the time to adjust to a new environment. In return they will get the wonderful gift of a cat’s trust. As always, please send all adoption inquiries to us at hydeparkcatsadoptions@gmail.com !

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Boston, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
