Marty Kryptonite is an adorable one-year-old, nine-pound, black and white, male Chihuahua/Terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian.
Marty was rescued from Chicago Animal Care and Control. Sadly, this dog has a neurological problem which causes him to twirl in circles. He wants to be a lapdog, but he frightens easily so he sometimes nips in defense.
His neurologist says Marty is a healthy dog, however his brain doesn’t always process the information that his eyes see. There is no cure, just patience, training and love.
He does absolutely fine in a home with cats, he just ignores them, however other dogs frighten him.
Marty still has puppy chewing behavior and is not housebroken, so he needs to be crated when not supervised.
His favorite member of his foster family is a 14-year-old girl but he still occasionally nips her. So, he should not live with younger children. He is looking for a patient dog-lover who has time to understand and work with his special needs to give him the best life possible.
Marty is otherwise healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, and heartworm-tested.
