My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there. My name is Elvis. I am 2 1/2 years old and I weigh about 70 lbs (I am overweight).

I was originally found as a stray in East Liverpool. My chain had gotten wrapped around a pool net. I was terrified, hungry and very skinny. I was brought in to the pound. I spent about a week or so here and someone came in to adopt me.

They adopted another small dog and they wanted me too. Upon further questioning, it came out that they wanted me as an outside dog. The pound explained to them that it is the pound's adoption policy that ALL dogs adopted from the pound must be kept as house dogs, no exceptions. They assured the pound that that wouldn't be a problem and they still wanted me and would keep me in the house.

The pound did tell them they would keep checking up on me to ensure that I was being kept as a house dog.

The pound did check up on me at first and I was in the house. Recently, the girl that works here had seen me tied up outside in this terribly cold weather. One of the deputies went out to do a check and I was tied up outside to a dog house. There was snow on the ground and no dog tracks between the house and my box, which in itself, told the pound I was being kept outside.

Now I am here at the pound looking to find a home that would never leave me chained up outside, let alone in these frigid temperatures.

I am a very, very sweet and loving dog. I love people and I am good with kids too.

I have gotten along good with all of the other dogs since I have been here. I am a pretty happy go lucky boy.

If you're looking for a great dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me.

I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer.

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER FEBRUARY 17, 2015.
HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.

MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY NEUTER SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.

THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
