My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This radiant redhead is Chevy, a 3 year old vizsla/pit mix that would love a kind, caring home of his own. Chevy came to us from our Newark facility after he was picked up as a lonely stray in a neighboring town. Chevy is simply stunning, and pictures just don't do him justice. We just wish he wasn't so worried.....we don't know what Chevy is worried about, but he acts as if he's going to get in trouble any minute now, and we're starting to get him to realize that he'll never be in trouble again. Chevy is quite shy upon meeting new people, and even cowers a bit when you reach for him. If you ignore this behavior and let Chevy check you out, soon he is nudging your hand, hoping that you'll pet him, and walking with his head held high and his tail wagging. Chevy is well behaved and walks nicely on a leash. He takes treats gently and doesn't have much interest in toys. He gets along fine with most dogs, but would love a more quiet home, without a lot of commotion. He's an absolute sweetheart when he comes out of his shell, and has a lot of love to give a good family that will never give him a thing to worry about again. File#24392 2/11/15
