My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Finn and I’m a laid-back greater Swiss mountain dog-hound mix on the hunt for someone who loves to hit the trail in search of a little adventure or exercise. Weighing in at 70 pounds, I’m a very strong, handsome young (2-year-old) fellow. Folks say I have an even-tempered, gentle and friendly nature. Take one look into my expressive eyes, and you can see clearly into my sensitive heart and soul. I crave human touch and companionship and I adore children. The kids who help take care of me at the shelter enjoy playing and snuggling with me almost as much as I do. The stamina that makes me a great hunter also would make me a great jogging or walking buddy. In fact, when this travelin’ man gets on the scent of prey, it’s pretty hard to call me off. That’s probably how I got separated from my owner. Show me an open car door or a man in a truck, and I’m ready to ride. Turn up the radio and I’ll “sing” along at the top of my voice. Okay, some call it “braying,” but it sounds like music to my floppy ears. Just think what a fine watchdog that howl would make me! While I live outside right now, I think I’d make a good indoor family pet as long as you give me plenty of exercise, sniffing time and supervision. The volunteers who come to walk me and play with me twice a day are training me to respond to basic commands so that when you adopt me I can more quickly become your well-mannered canine companion. I’m healthy, up to date on all shots, heartworm negative and neutered. If interested in meeting me please email martowe514@gmail.com or call Margaret at 843-869-3869. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I look forward to meeting you.
