09/22/17 My name is Levi and I hope my Adoption Day will be celebrated with you! I’m a 4-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix boy. At 45 pounds, I’m neither too big or too small – I’m just right! I’ve been told I’m one of the best-trained dogs at the shelter – I sit, stay and lay down on command and I walk well on a leash. I play with other dogs and I also entertain myself with toys. A home with a fenced-yard would be great and, if you are a walker or jogger, I would be a swell companion on trails and in the neighborhood.

I’m looking for a dog-savvy owner who knows how to be the leader. Please give me clear boundaries, rules and limits. Reward me for good behavior. If I cannot look to you as my leader, I will try to be the boss. If you assert yourself, however, I will completely trust you and be the most obedient boy. It’s what I truly want, to just be a dog and let you take on the duties of protection and direction. In return, you will have my loyalty, love and absolute respect.

My Adoption Day would be the happiest day of my life. It would mean that I finally belong, after three years of waiting in a shelter. It would mean that I am finally loved, after seeing so many people walk past my kennel door. And it would mean that I can finally just enjoy being a dog, because I will have found a friend I can trust and rely on.
