Hi. I'm Callie. I’m a sweet, beautiful 8 year old Black Lab/Shepherd mix. I’ve been waiting patiently to find my true love. I’m hoping it’s you.

I do have a unique personality, but once you get to know me, and I get to know you, I know we could be best pals. I’m looking for a calm home without children. I would need to be the only pet – hey, I want you all to myself. I’d be okay with one adult or possibly a couple. I’m not the best with other dogs, but if they leave me alone (for instance when we’re on walks), I’ll leave them alone too.

Some of my favorite pastimes are snuggling, swimming, playing fetch and going on long walks with my special someone. I will admit I’m wary of new people and may take a bit to warm up to you. Our initial greeting might not go as smoothly as you’d like, but I hope you’ll see past my somewhat abrasive manner and give me the chance to get to know and trust you. I’m a smart lady and, in addition to the basic commands, know beg, roll over, and how to find t

hings. I know my true love is out there somewhere. Could it be you? If you’re looking for a friend and family member to call your own, please call the kennel at (503) 981-2570 to learn more and possibly schedule an appointment to meet me.

About Project POOCH, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Project POOCH, Inc., provides opportunities for youth in corrections to develop the personal and vocational skills they will need to become responsible, productive members of the community. The program accomplishes this by teaching youth to care for and train shelter dogs for adoption.

We have successfully paired youth at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in Woodburn with homeless dogs since 1993.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our pets reside inside MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility at 2630 N Pacific Highway, Woodburn, Oregon. We are open daily from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm. All visits are by appointment ONLY. Since it is a correctional facility, all visitors must be on the guest list. When visiting, you can only bring in your keys and photo ID. All else must be left outside the gate. To schedule an appointment, please call our kennel at (503) 981-2570.

Our Adoption Process...

We want every adoption to be a successful one. Our adoption process may take some time as we do conduct home visits. Also, all of our dogs must pass their Canine Good Citizen Test before they can go to their forever homes. For more information about our adoption process, visit http://www.pooch.org/howToAdopt.php.
