My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ernie is a very sweet and talkative nine-year-old, 11-pound, male seal point Siamese cat with icy blue eyes looking for a loving guardian.

Ernie’s human 87-year-old dad passed away and he was left at home with him until his body was discovered. Poor Ernie was devastated and when I brought him home he didn’t eat or drink for days.

Finally after almost two months in my home, he’s finally relaxed. He’s an easy-going guy who spends his days hanging out on a cat tree and watching out the window.

Ernie’s eye sight might not be the best so he’ll hiss when you first approach him, but he has never scratched or bit. He leans into you lovingly and loves to be pet. If you sit on the floor near him, he’ll run over to sit in your lap.

As far as I know, Ernie has always lived as the one and only pet in the home. He certainly does not like dogs, but has adjusted grudgingly to life with other gentle natured cats in my home.

Ernie is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, micro-chipped and virus-tested. He even had a full urinalysis and blood test. Ernie has all his claws and he can not be de-clawed.

His adoption fee of $50 benefits rescued pets. He is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
