Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweetie is estimated at around 12-15 months old and has had some trauma in her short life. She is very hand and touch shy. Lots of things overwhelm Sweetie including new dogs, people, and situations. She wants attention and petting but doesn't trust it totally yet. Sweetie has made good progress but it will take time, patience, routine and training to for her to overcome her fear of being hurt. She walks pretty well on leash now, will get into and out of the car more easily and is starting to play with her yard buddy. Sweetie came to us with entropian eyelids which is a painful condition and could be part of the reason she is so hand shy. That condition has been surgically corrected and she no longer has the constant irritation to her eyes she had before. The hair is still growing back around her eyes and that can be seen in the posted pictures. We are looking for an adopter experienced with Sweetie's kind of baggage and who has the commitment and acceptance she needs to overcome her past.
Please visit our web site at www.gprci.com for adoption information. Our adoption application can be completed on line or downloaded. A securely fenced yard is required for adoption. Great Pyrenees Rescue of Central Illinois is a 501 (c) (3) not for profit and is licensed by the State of Illinois.
