Noelle's Story...
How could such a polite little dog be a stray? Hard to imagine her out in this cold, crazy world all alone. Still, that's how she came to us.

This sweet dog is definitely used to being somebody's baby. She's so loving. When you pick her up she lays her head on your shoulder and doesn't move a muscle -- it's clearly where she wants to be.

Noelle loves people so much and becomes your little shadow. If you want someone to baby, look no further -- this is your dog.

She's healthy, around 2 years old and weighs about 8 pounds. She got a break from the shelter in a volunteer's home and proved herself to be a great house guest. She's about 80% house-trained and needs a little more time and coaxing to send signals consistently when it's time to go out.

Noelle LOVES to play with other dogs so we want to make sure she goes to a home with a small/medium dog needing a playmate. She's frightened by some large dogs, fast movements and loud noises and emotional outbursts so a home without larger animals and children would be best. She's tentative around new people but warms to them pretty quickly.

She sleeps quietly overnight in her crate (but would much rather cozy up with you). Noelle is being introduced, apparently for the first time, to the concept of a walk -- outside noises (e.g., cars, planes, dogs barking) and activity scare her. She shies from them. She has started enjoying walks but still requires a watchful eye since her first instinct is to bolt from loud cars and "scary" dogs.

She's sensitive so needs an owner with a soft touch. A raised voice or harsh sound makes her hang her head and tuck her tail. Positive training is a must for her, and since she's food-driven she should learn quickly.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Noelle, a Marietta Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
