My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Everyone who meets Ernie falls in love. He is an absolute sweetie pie and exceedingly handsome with a broad head, soulful eyes and a huge capacity for love and devotion. A Flat Coated Retriever mix, Ernie is about 18 months old and a somewhat underweight 70 lbs. Our only knowledge of his past is that he spent 4-5 months in a shelter in Tennessee, and would now be not only free of that terrible existence but also in a loving home, were it not for his fear of being crated or left alone. We envision him needing a place where people are around consistently and have the time and skills to teach him not to fear abandonment. He is fine with cats and children and other dogs. He also loves being outside... even alone! He would spend long happy hours outside communing with nature if the weather would allow it. We can imagine him being a great companion dog to someone who wants a pal to ride around with them. Ernie could be trained for therapy work. The possibilities are endless.
