Facts about Rocky

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Gray Or Blue (Mostly)
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
Rocky is a handsome, lovable boy. He is super soft and fluffy. He is a big mush who hams it up for attention. Rare for a cat, but Rocky loves water. He loves to drink from the tap and likes to make the water in his bowl move before drinking it. He loves keeping you company in the morning when getting ready for work. He likes to peek in the mirror and is still wondering who that handsome devil in the mirror is. ;-) Rocky needs a little extra TLC as he has a minor heart condition. It is not severe and is easily maintained by giving him two small pills ONCE a day. He is a sweet boy and does not put up a big fuss. Won’t you give Rocky a chance at a forever home? He is so cheerful and ready to share his love with you. He gets along with other cats well, as he has two other kitties with him in his foster home.

About Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization founded in 1982 by volunteer workers who met at a "no-kill" animal shelter. Dismayed at the terrible living conditions of the animals there, they left to establish a rescue group to properly care for cats and dogs in need, and find them safe and loving homes.

Many of our animals are fostered by group members and outside volunteers, while other animals are housed at our facility. The animals come from various places. Some come from owners who are no longer able to care for them. Others are taken from shelters, yet still others (many others) come from the streets. Those rescued from the streets often arrive sick or injured, and are subsequently treated by veterinarians. We have great success finding homes for puppies and kittens as well as older animals and those with special needs (such as blind and handicapped cats and dogs). We pride ourselves on finding the best match between people and pets. We average about 600 adoptions per year!

We are always in need of donations to help us continue our mission - and we could not survive without our wonderful volunteers. We are always in need of more foster homes. We invite you to explore our website to learn more about us!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have adoption events almost every weekend or you can meet a pet by appointment. Please check our calendar under "events" on our website or click here: While many of our animals are kenneled in our facility, many are fostered in loving homes which provides special care and attention - and allows Pet Rescue to expertly match our pets with prospective homes.

Our Adoption Process...

To adopt a cat or dog, please fill out an adoption application from our website: under the "adopt" tab. The adoption donation for a puppy/dog is $300-$450 and for kitten/cat is $100-$175 (high amounts for pure breeds). If the puppy or kitten is too young to be neutered, we require a spay/neuter deposit of $60 which is refundable upon receipt of proof from your vet. All adoption donations are tax-deductible. Our pets are examined by a veterinarian, spayed and neutered if age appropriate, vaccinated, dewormed, receive flea/tick treatment and microchipped. Our review process may happen quickly (within two days) or may take up to two weeks - email is our preferred means of communication. Please contact us by email at or call (914) 835-3332 .
