Her color may even be the idiotic reason someone dumped her on a busy highway, hoping she wouldn't make it. Thankfully a kind motorist spotted Oakley trying her best to dodge cars and stay safe, and she brought Oakley to the nearest vet's office where one of the employees took her under her wing. And, whatever happened in her past, Oakley is not looking back!!! A loving, happy, playful girl like Oakley will be so appreciative for a chance. She makes friends easily: kids and adults, dogs and cats, even horses that her foster mom has on her property! Anyone who will play instantly becomes her best friend, and if there's no one to play with, she'll play with toys on her own! (But she'll love you for life if you toss a ball for her!) No fights for her at bathtime -- not only does she LOVE baths, but she might just jump in the shower with you if you don't lock the doors! She has attached so well to her foster so we know that she'll attach very easily to her new family, and be 100% devoted and loyal. She is also very smart so anyone interested in spending time and teaching her tricks will have a great time with such an attentive student! We think Oakley is just under a year old, she weighs 30 pounds, and she is very healthy -- all she needs is that one special person who can see past Black Dog Syndrome and recognize the golden temperament inside this super sweet girl.
