Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sammy is a 3-4 year old schnauzer/poodle who weighs 24 lbs. He is a loving, sweet, cuddly dog. He loves his toys and playing fetch. He also loves his crate and will hang out in it voluntarily and put himself to bed. He is house trained and can use a doggie door. Sammy is great with people and fearless about meeting new people. He was afraid of other dogs when he first came to rescue but he is getting better with them and getting generally more mellow. He is good with kids inside his home and very well behaved. He can get riled up and it may be unsafe for children to be around him at these times. He was evaluated by a trainer who believes that Sammy strikes first when he meets other dogs. He would do best in a house with a yard. He has been using a freedom harness and calming cap and they have helped him quite a bit. Sammy is doing very well on a very highly structured, and regular schedule and is a great dog - until he comes across another dog. Eventually we believe he can be trained to tolerate other dogs. He adores riding in the car, likes getting bathed and brushed. He is not a chewer and hardly ever barks. Apart from the dog thing Sammy is adorable and perfect. He is hypoallergenic and doesn’t shed.
