Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The Westie/Cairn Terrier mix is a perfect combo for those who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family dog. Of utmost importance...both breeds are famous for their great temperaments and extremely loving and snuggly ways. They're also known to be trustworthy and very sociable with family members and other gentle pets. Minnie is a very engaging and joyful being...she would be so excited with neighborhood walks where she can socialize with dog-loving neighbors and their friendly pets. At any time a fun adventure is the order of the day - count her in! Minnie engages joyfully and with every ounce of positive energy inside of her. And then you can count on her to crash on the couch snuggling close to her favorite humans and canine friends.
Minnie is an absolutely adorable and sweet girl who favors the smart and intuitive nature of the Cairn while taking on the sweet and cuddly qualities of the Westie. Minnie appears to be a non-shedding pup (although it's hard to tell with certainty until her new and healthy post-shelter hair grows out). Minnie will require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep her coat healthy and cottony-soft.
Minnie's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...she makes close playmates everywhere she goes. She is very friendly and engaging... that means everyone she meets has the potential to become a close companion. You know when a loved one approaches, Minnie's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through her entire body ending in a smile. And if your lap is available, up Minnie goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of her devotion. Minnie is such a wonderful being...we think she represents the best qualities of the Terrier breed. At about 10 to 12 months old and just about 7 lbs, Minnie seems to have completely left behind the neglect and lack of love that made up her early life. She has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier her family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments.
We would like to see Minnie in a home that includes her in family time and activities...she loves to be involved and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member. Minnie would be wonderful for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young pup. Minnie doesn't require another dog to be happy...but she does enjoy her relationships with kind and gentle dogs.
Minnie will arrive on transport in Denver 2/27/15. If interested in this very sweet girl who is truly an exceptional companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
