A Note from Jasper's Foster Family:

"What an amazing spirit sweet Jasper has! We are constantly amazed to see lost souls like him turn into loving family members!

Jasper has been in a foster home in our network for many months, and he has gone from a terrified feral dog to a boy who is full of tail wags and love! If Jasper could speak, he would tell us terrifying tales of living in a hoarder's back yard for his first 5 years of life, where he received little attention or love. Luckily, he had a pack of dogs to live with - but still, this condition is not ideal for any dog to endure.

When Jasper meets someone new, he has a slower warm up period - but with the right amount of patience and love, he will adapt to his new forever home. Jasper will do best in a home with other dogs because he needs to learn from established dogs that his environment is safe. Jasper is good with children who are calm and allow him to approach them. Jasper is learning new things, like walking in the park and riding in cars - which he is adapting well to.

If you have a patient, loving spirit, this little guy is for you!”

About New Leash On Life Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

New Leash On Life Animal Rescue Foundation was started in 1997 by a group of animal-loving individuals united by a vision -- to make overpopulation, unwanted pets, crowded shelters, and euthanasia things of the past.

In 2002, the organization moved to a 13-acre facility in the Santa Clarita Valley and established their base of operations there: a haven for many companion animals who would have otherwise been lost within the shelter system. The organization also established programs to help provide locals with better learning resources, to help enrich their education as animal owners.

Today, the Ranch is a borderline magical place, and offers a wide variety of additional services, such as: boarding, training, volunteer programs, CGC certification, and much more -- the proceeds from which go directly back into the rescue efforts, spearheaded by New Leash On Life's passionate staff and proactive volunteers.

New Leash On Life has also pioneered a unique program: the Lend A Paw (LAP) program, which offer training for both shelter and already-adopted dogs to become licensed therapy dogs for visits to hospitals, nursing homes, schools for special needs students, and veteran facilities.

Today, New Leash On Life can proudly say it has been directly responsible for spaying and neutering thousands of pets, rescuing, rehabbing and re-homing over 5,000 shelter dogs from various high-kill shelters all across Southern California, as well as making a continued determined effort to better educate the community on responsible pet ownership.

Together, in coalition with amazing organizations like Best Friends Animal Society, New Leash On Life is determined to save even more helpless lives, build a comprehensive network of allies to help all animals in need (even those not in our immediate area), and make LA (and beyond) no-kill, forever!
