My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ruger is an adorable 12 month old male GSD. He is a special boy that has been thru a lot in his short past. He is terrified of most men and especially afraid of men in ballcaps. We do suspect that Ruger has been abused in his past. He has all the markers of mild abuse. He can be defensive against strangers as well.
However! Ruger loves his foster family! Especially the children. He is drawn to the kids and prefers their company over anyone else. He does great with his foster mom now as well, though it did take a good 48 hours for him to accept her fully.

As for strangers, he does not go after them, he barks and tries to avoid them, but if they continue to approach he will bite.

We are looking to find a specific family for Ruger, one that has experience with the German Shepherd breed. A family that will get out and play ball with this goofy puppy on a regular basis. He may have a questionable past, but he is still a puppy. He is playful and loves playing ball. He would definitely benefit from some one on one training for basic manners. He is very loving and attentive!

He gets along great with other dogs of all sizes! We will be testing him with cats shortly.

Adoption fee is $300.00; this includes spay/neuter, HW test, all vaccinations, microchip and microchip registration.
