Charlene is a female grey tabby domestic short hair with white mittens, born April 30th 2004.
Charlene was abandoned at or near a managed colony of feral cats, and was noticed by the caretaker. Charlene didn't know how to hunt or care for herself outside, and she didn't get along with the other cats. She wasn't feral at all though - she came right over to the caretaker and started to purr! Knowing she would be unable to live in the feral colony, the caretaker arranged for Charlene to come to Kitty Corner to find a home.
Charlene was adopted by a lovely older lady, and they lived together happily for several years. Recently, the older lady became unable to live alone and had to move into assisted living facility, and was unable to take Charlene with her. Her other family members were unwilling to take Charlene in, so Charlene was returned to KittyCorner to await another family to join.
Charlene is a very relaxed, laid back, mellow adult cat with no health or behavior problems.
Charlene LOVES people, and she is friendly right from the start. Her coat is very soft and plush, and she enjoys being petted and snuggled. She's a super companion who is affectionate without being pushy. How or why someone could abandon her, we'll never understand.
Charlene tolerates being around other cats. She is indifferent to their company and does not seem to require it. Charlene relates better to people then she does to other cats. We think Charlene would be best in a home where she is an only cat, but she may also do well with one feline sibling who wasn't dominant or aggressive toward her.
Charlene has already lost one human family through no fault of her own. Charlene has so much love to give, and she just needs a family to share it with. Is there room in your family for this lovely young lady? Please, call us to come and meet Charlene!
