I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with dogs.
Meet Endor, an attractive, classically marked five year old purebred border collie. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative and on preventative, and microchipped. Endor came to us because his owner, who had allowed Endor to freely roam the rural area they lived in, moved to a suburban restricted subdivision where they could not keep him.
Endor is an intelligent, active boy who is very people-oriented but when he first came to us, he had no manners or obedience training at all. Although with a good temperament, friendly toward people, and no apparent aggressive behaviors, Endor was completely his “own leader” who thought he didn’t need to listen to anyone else. His foster parent gained his attention and trust so that she was able to start teaching him basic obedience and manners. However, Endor tried to dominate other dogs by playing rough, by being an annoying nuisance to them, and not knowing when to stop. He didn't know how to "read" other dogs signals to "Stop" what he was doing, which would result in stressing the more submissive dogs, and irritating the more dominant dogs, which sometimes resulted in a fight.
ETBCR sent Endor to Off Leash K9 Training, LLC in the Tri-Cities area to work on these issues. In just a few weeks, the change in Endor was remarkable. He has been in training for over two months, and Endor is the dog he was meant to be and truly is….calm, relaxed, confident, and willingly obedient. And a happy boy who is a joy to be around.
Endor needs an experienced, dog-savvy owner who is willing to learn from his trainer how to form the proper relationship with Endor, how to continue his training and to use the correct body language and verbal commands that he has been taught, and how to not let him possibly backslide into undesirable behaviors.
