My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Nashville and I’m one happy young and affectionate girl. I’m beautiful and I have a lean 70 pounds athletic build. I love to run and play fetch all the way to the point that I think it’s more fun to have two toys at one time. The minute I catch one I’m ready to drop it and catch the next one. I’ve had no accidents in the house and I’m perfectly well behaved in a crate when it’s time to relax and chill or even if no one is home to watch me. You see, since I still have lots of puppy in me, I’m not able to stay alone in the house when no one is home yet. That’s probably because I still like to grab socks! Oh, and I sleep through the night like a champ!

So here’s the past scoop on me. Before I came to SCLRR I was not around people so when someone would pet me I would get so excited that I literally could not sit still. I gave ants in your pants a whole new meaning. So the volunteers at SCLRR, who wanted to give me a great chance at finding a new home, sent me to a personal trainer for a few weeks. Yup, dogs have personal trainers too! And with some follow through I have become comfortable in the house and next to you. I relax on my bed and know the difference between play time and calm time. I still jump up when I am not supposed to but even that I have curbed.

While at training, I literally met a hundred dogs and played nice with every single one. I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body. I learned how to sit while someone pets me and I can now walk on a leash with someone close to me. Before SCLRR, I couldn’t even walk straight when someone was next to me. I would jump up and around and around way too much. You honestly couldn’t even put your hand on my head. Wow, I have come a long way! I definitely learned a ton and I improved drastically. And the good news is I’m continuing to improve with the help of my foster parents who have been practicing the exercises the trainer gave us. The exercises work and since they do, it will be important for me to find someone or a family who will repeat my exercises and continue to train me to be the best that I can be. And that brings me to my intelligence. I am very smart, attentive and aware. I learn tricks quick and I am eager to be challenged and trained. My characteristics are a lab to the core and I aim to please so the sky is the limit.

I’m looking for an experienced dog person/family that will create a routine for me and is game for continuing my training. So with St. Paddy’s Day on the horizon, I am looking for a little luck and a new forever home. Give your family rep a call to start a lucky roll!
