My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi. My name is Jazzy and things have been very difficult for me. I grew up in a puppy mill and was there just to make puppies. My mom says I probably had puppies before I learned how to be a dog.

You see, I am afraid of a lot of things especially men and children . Coming from a puppy mill and now living in the real world is very scary. My wish list for adoption is very specific… I’d like to live in a quiet setting with a human mom and at least one other dog. Cats are ok – there’s one here and we play together almost every morning. Someone who is patient, and has time to help me through my issues is what I really want and need.

My mom says that I am one of the most gorgeous black Schnauzers that you will ever meet. I am 3 years old, weighs 18 pounds, and have cropped ears and tail. I don’t love to ride in the car, but I relax after a bit. I’m good at the groomer and the vet’s office.

I have been adopted before but there were men living in the house and it was just too much for me…I’m not completely over my trust issues. I am coming around in my current foster home and eating well, taking treats from my mom’s hand, and house trained.

I do better in a crate when mom goes to work, but I sleep in bed at night, right beside her! I love exploring outdoors but I am hesitant to come when called and sometimes frightened to step inside. I really need a fenced yard, and a nice quiet neighborhood to take walks on a leash.

I am a work in progress and I want to find the perfect home that will take me in and give me all the love I need. I’d like to be given a chance to trust, and to blossom. It may not be a quick fix, but you’ll see the progress I make each day, just like my foster mom has. When I arrived, I didn’t like to be petted… boy, did that change – I love getting my fair share of belly rubs and pets.

I didn’t let my foster mom know that I had a bark for weeks – one day she took so long to put my food in the dish – I let her know I was waiting! I know that she’s proud of my progress and is hoping there is someone out there that will take me to the next level. If I sound like a good fit, please fill out an application!

Her adoption fee is $300.00
