Leggz's Story...
Leggz, who actually listens to her nick name which is Trixie is looking for her forever family. She is a lovely hound lab mix that is approximately 5-6 years in age. She is excellent with other dogs, housebroken and will go into the crate even if you are not wanting her to - she will just go inside the crate for a nap. She originally was found at a grocery store parking lot and was a little skinny. She had some nasty teeth, which have been cleaned and a few were removed. She is no longer skinny at all and is enjoying the indoor dog life very much so. She would be a nice addition to a home that wants a chilled out girl but also one that will romp around in the backyard and entertain herself for hours (and she does like to sunbathe on the deck). Cats are unknown, we haven't introduced her to any. She has the best disposition, gentle and calm. She is a charmer - just look at that face! We have learned most recently that at the adoption event she is quite drawn to the children and wags her tail to greet. The foster doesn't have kids and was pleased to see. If you are interested in this sweetheart, please complete an online application at www.henricohumane.org to get started (takes a few minutes to complete! and a volunteer will be right back in contact with you)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leggz, a Richmond Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
