My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sasha Female Husky 7YO (February 2015)

Let me introduce you to Sasha. She is a sweet 7 year old, 53 lb. Husky that was recently rescued from a high kill shelter. Her time prior to being with her current owner is unknown, as she was initially found walking down a street alone. However, it is clear that she has had some obedience training as she quickly lays on command, as well as sitting and shaking her paw for treats. Sasha is very healthy, with a clean bill of health from her vet. She is both spayed and micro-chipped. She has a very loving demeanor, and absolutely wants to be near people.
While full of energy and play, Sasha is more than willing to roll over on her back if someone will rub her belly. She is a cuddly dog for sure. If she can prompt anyone to stop what they are doing to pet her, she will do just that. Sasha gets very excited for walks, and will take people on energized strolls for as long as anyone will let her go. She does, however, get a little nervous when left alone. Though she is house broken, she has been known to pick a singular spot in the house to display her nervousness with urine. This was lessening a great deal as she grew comfortable with her surroundings. Sasha does NOT chew on furniture or even on stuffed animals, but does enjoy having raw hide bones to work on.
Sasha is loved by her surrendering family, but is being released due to a bite incident. The surrendering family’s 5 year old child attempted to take a new chew bone from the dog, and was subsequently bit on the face. While the family believes this to be an instinctual food protection action rather than an attack, they no longer feel comfortable having Sasha near children. It should be noted that the owner feels that Sasha should be only rehomed with adults or with families with teenage children.
Sasha is a picky eater. Prior to being adopted by her current owner, she must have eaten primarily human food. Currently she is slowly being shifted back to kibble. Sasha loves chicken mixed in with her food, as well as crumbled cheese. She is not a fan of wet dog food, and rarely takes to milk bone treats. She is selective in her palate of tastes, but it is not affecting her health or weight.
Sasha is a wonderful dog that needs a loving home. She will bring love and joy to anyone that takes her in. Her tail wags non-stop, and she will make you want to stop what you are doing so that you can play with her. She is pretty much a walking furry hug waiting to happen. Sasha will be your best friend, and follow you anywhere you are willing to take her. She loves car rides, walks, runs, and naps. Take some time to know her and you will be glad that this beautiful soul crossed your path.
