My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

KALANI is a 5 year old neutered yellow male Lab that weighs 97 pounds. He is looking for love and someone that can care for him and give him the love and attention he deserves! Kalani is a very affectionate guy and likes to be close to you and will try to get in your lap for some loving if you let him! Kalani is very good on leash and doesn't really pull at all. He is mindful of whoever is walking him, he does enjoy sniffing but will move along when asked. He knows basic commands such as heel, sit, stay, down, here, house (run back to house and wait), fetch, pick it up (remotes, water bottles), ball (go find his ball), up (jump up into truck), shake. He does enjoy playing fetch. Kalani used to go camping with his previous owners and loved it. Kalani is house trained, he began having accidents due to undiagnosed diabetes but is back on track now that he is being properly treated. Kalani is good with other dogs. He doesn't seem to mind the foster's cats. Has lived with older kids so approved for kids ages 10+.

Update (3/27): Kalani weighs 87 pounds. Good job, Kalani and foster mom! Only 15 more pounds to go. Kalani is a great dog. He is a gentle soul who adapts wonderfully to whatever situation is going on in his foster home. He loves to go for walks.

Update 3/15): Kalani continues to be an excellent houseguest. He has good house manners, and is a gentle soul just looking for his place. He will not go near the indoor stairs but is content to sleep in a dog bed in the living room by himself at night. He did master the 4 deck stairs to the yard once we got rid of all the snow and ice! He is content to nap with the older resident dogs but was entertained with a younger houseguest and they enjoyed some play. He is a mellow guy - a couple of walks a day are plenty.
