My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

MEET MISS GEORGIA LOU! This adorable, 18 lb, 7-year-old, golden Cockapoo girl was pulled from the Carson Shelter in 2009. Please don't let her age dissuade you, as these dogs live long into their teens! She has lived with one of our foster parents for the past 6 years, but she doesn't seem to like sharing her home with other dogs. Our foster mom has made the very difficult decision to give up her beloved Georgia so that her girl can lead a happier life elsewhere.

Georgia Lou is a gentle, sweet, mellow girl who wants to be your one and only. She would be great with kids over 8 yrs old. She is fine meeting other dogs on walks and actually LOVES going to the dog park -- playing fetch is her favorite! Jumping up to kiss your nose and playing with her toys... another of her favorites, as you can see in her pictures! She can be independent, but does not like being left alone all day. While she's not a lap dog, she does like to snuggle up to her human on the couch or under the covers. Georgia Lou is a true lady: she often lies with her front legs crossed! She has been very healthy all her life and is such a good girl. She has been through training and would be happy to show you all she can do -- just don't forget the treats! She loves to show off: shake, high five, play dead and take a bow! She walks well on a leash and is good in the car. She is potty trained in her current home (with yard access), but we never guarantee. Georgia Lou's current mom will only let her go to the very best home. Could that be with you?

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID

If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed.

UPDATE!!!! Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events most every Sunday at ROVER KENNELS on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Rover is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets.

Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!

Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events!

See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes

Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption and for considering saving a life. It will be the best gift you ever give yourself or your family.
