Riley's Story...
AVAILABLE 02-25-15 Riley went to live with her family a year ago. Unfortunately, on 02-14-15 the child in the family was hitting Riley with a balloon and they were playing, but then she was holding the balloon in her mouth when Riley went for the balloon and got the kid. Riley is a 3 year old Husky/Blue Heeler Mix - such a pretty girl. She is quite shy until you get to know her. On leash walks she is constantly looking at her handler to make sure she's doing right. Riley did fine with the family's Beagle. She has been spayed, her shots are up to date and she tested negative for heart worms. She is also housetrained. Sweet Riley needs a person/family who can give her lots of TLC and patience for her to realize they will love and care for her FOREVER. If you're that person/family, please come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City and meet Riley.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Riley, a Elizabeth City Husky/Blue Heeler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky/Blue Heeler for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Husky/Blue Heeler dog from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky/Blue Heeler breeders who help with Husky/Blue Heeler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
