Rufus's Story...
Rufus is a 2 year old Bassett Hound mix who is a quiet as he can be! He loves to hang out on his dog bed or in his kennel with a big basket of toys. Rufus is great at occupying himself for hours, is completely house trained & is a perfect gentleman in his crate while his foster mom is gone and at night! He gets along well with dogs, big & small, and also does well with cats. He loves car rides, peanut butter bones, walks and is eager to please!

If you're interested in adopting Rufus, please visit our website at www.c2cnd.org & click on "adoption process" to fill out an application! Adoption fee for pups up to 2 years of age is $250, 2+ years is $225, & giant breeds is $350 - this covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, heartworm test (if old enough to be tested & treatment if necessary), and spay/neuter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rufus, a Charlotte Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charlotte, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Charlotte.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charlotte already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charlotte breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charlotte paves the way for another one to be saved.
