Emmie's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Emmie's Story...
Big fan of: Walking, cuddling, sitting in laps, playing with squeaky toys, and being with her companion, Star! Emmie is a true sweetheart with a friendly, laid-back demeanor. She loves people!

Not a fan of: Being alone for too long. Emmie’s foster family noted that she loves being with her humans and is sad if she is left on her own for too long.

A little more: Emmie and her best friend, Star, came to PAWS from another local shelter. They recently spent some time in foster care where we learned so many fantastic things about them! Emmie is low-maintenance and rarely barks. The pair enjoy taking walks and are also compatible with other pooches! Emmie is slightly larger at 15 pounds, while Star is a petite 9 pounds.

Dream home: This adorable duo is looking for an adopter with a heart big enough for two dogs. Belly rubs and treats are a must!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emmie, a Chicago Schnauzer (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature) for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
