Piko's Story...
Hi, my name is Piko. I used to be called Niko, so you are welcome to use either name! I am a male Chihuahua/Papillon mix born in May, 2009. I was relinquished after my people moved into a living situation where they could not have pets. That was quite a shock, but I am confident I will find a FOREVER home with MaxFund's help!

I must confess I am scared of loud noises, fireworks and big dogs. I am housetrained. I get along with men, women, small dogs and older children (10+) years. I have an "interest" in cats, but have not lived with one. I also ride nicely in the car and walk well on a leash. I had a bath at MaxFund and was well behaved. I may be an escape artist, so even if in a fenced backyard, I should be supervised at all times.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Piko, a Denver Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Denver, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Denver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Denver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Denver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Denver paves the way for another one to be saved.
