My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! My name is Arthur. I am a 2-year-old neutered male Golden Retriever/American Eskimo mix. I weigh about 37 pounds.

Handsome, sweet, and loving is how I would describe myself. Once we meet, I think you'll agree that they don't come any better than me! It would be silly for you to pass on adopting me.

Despite all my wonderful attributes, my previous family surrendered me to a local high-kill shelter. Can you believe that? The excuse my owners gave the shelter was that they didn't have time for me anymore. I loved them very much and would have done anything to make it work, but I guess to them I was just a dog. Maybe I should have seen it coming. I was never really part of the family after all. I wasn't allowed in the house no matter how many times I promised them that I would be a good boy and no one ever bathed me or bothered to brush the mats out of my hair. I never got to experience a nice warm bed and snuggles from my human companions. Isn't that sad?

Obviously, I'm looking for a family that will make me a priority. I'm not bitter about my past is in anyway. I'm still a super happy guy, but I'm hoping for better this time around. It would be really great if my new family handed out belly rubs whenever I wanted one, too! Belly rubs are the best!

A family that's active would be most ideal for me. I'm not crazy energetic, but I'm a young guy. I'd like to do more than just hang out on the couch or in the yard everyday. Maybe if you adopt me we could go to the dog park sometimes? Or we could explore the city and go for hikes in the hills? I'll let you decide. More than anything I'm looking for a buddy to spend time with. It doesn't matter what kind of excursion we're on. As long as we're doing it together.

If you think I would make a great companion, please don't hesitate to contact CageFree and tell them you want to meet me. I'm very excited to meet you!
