My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB March 15, 2014.

If “good things come in small packages,” then Archie is very good indeed. He’s a little guy, small for his age, and very sweet.

Archie came from a hoarding situation. For the first few weeks (both at Toronto Animal Services and in foster care) he was completely terrified, constantly growling and hissing, though he never lashed out. The only thing that calmed him were the other cats in his foster home.

Soon after he came into foster care he was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection. Once that was treated, his socialization began to improve in leaps and bounds! Archie likes to be held and petted, and he'll often cuddle up next to you (or halfway on you!) on the couch. He likes to sleep on the bed with you every night.

Archie was hesitant to play at first but quickly got the hang of it and can’t resist the laser pointer! He also loves to play with his feline foster brother. He is very curious and will be halfway in a cupboard (or the fridge!) before you know it. He likes to follow you around "helping" with things. He's a good – if messy – eater, though he enjoys wet food much more than kibble. His litter box habits are excellent. He happily uses the scratching post but needs to be reminded not to use other things as well. He can be very vocal; always ready to chat with you.

Archie can be timid at first, but he comes out of his shell quickly. He would love (and would prefer) to have another cat to live with. Perhaps one older than he is, to keep him in line. Archie has met one calm dog and liked her when he got used to her. He's probably too timid to be at ease with small kids, but would get used to older kids.

Please give this precious sweetheart the patient, loving family he deserves!
