My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DUKE is a 3 year old neutered black male Lab who weighs 54 pounds. Duke is a sweet guy and great company during snow and ice storms! He will join you on the couch if offered, or snooze in his dog bed as you watch movie marathons and dream of spring. Duke didn't mind the snow and played in the yard, retrieving a couple times before finding and tracking some interesting smells. Duke is mellow and casually follows you about. He is housetrained and crate trained. Duke has been in doggie playgroups and is not interested in playing with other dogs. He just wants to be with his people in a calm environment where people aren't coming and going all the time. Duke was a stray to the shelter. He is approved for kids 10+.

Update (3/6): Duke got out and played in the snow numerous times. He has a springy run which was even more emphasized in the deep snow, so it seemed he was bouncing around the yard more than running around the yard. We would spend about 20 minutes outside exploring the yard and then he would let me know it was time to go back indoors by waiting for me at the door. Inside, Duke kept me company during chores and then tv time. He has a stuffed squirrel he enjoys chewing, and a rope toy he will shake vigorously. We will play with a ball indoors and he is particularly funny pouncing on the ball as it bounces around the room!
