Gunner's Story...
Gunner is a healthy 4 year old owner give up from Thibodeaux, LA. He is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and heartworm negative. A dental was just done by our veterinarian. He is sweet and friendly. Financial setback was the reason for giving him up. He would love to go to a home with a family that is going to spend time with him. He walks well on a leash and loves to take car rides. He is fine with other dogs. Gunner is currently in a foster home with other dogs and doing well.
Our adoption fee is $300. We require that our dogs live indoors and prefer a securely fenced back yard. We do home visits and check vet references prior to an adoption. We also require that our dogs be on monthly year round heartworm prevention. Please email QueenB534@aol.com for more information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gunner, a Folsom Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Folsom, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Folsom.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Folsom already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Folsom breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Folsom paves the way for another one to be saved.
