My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

EMMA: 1 Year Old Chocolate Spayed Female 50 Pounds

Emma is a beautiful 1 year old chocolate lab. She was picked up in Turlock as a stray but obviously she is friendly with people, dogs, cats, and children so we believe she was well loved and taken care of at one time. She appears to have had puppies at her very young age! She is very long legged and runs like a gazelle when outside, but she is good on the halter/leash and does not pull. She is a bit timid around new people, but when we got her, she rode in the car very calmly for about 2 hours so once she got to know us, she is very calm and affectionate. She loves belly rubs, gives lots of kisses, and is content laying on the floor beside you when working! She is calm and content in the house. She gets along with our other 3 dogs and 1 cat. She sleeps well at night in a crate all night without a peep, just needs to be convinced to go into the crate but once in there she is very comfortable.

She would do well with someone who can spend the time to train her, she still needs to learn to be a good canine citizen but is very eager to please and she is very quick to learn, she is very smart. Emma is very sweet and loving, loves people and does well with other dogs. She is a bit needy right now, and would need someone who is at home enough to provide lots of exercise and training. She is very good in the house, house broken and does not want to chew as much as other 1 year old labs we have had. She knows sit and come and is walking on leash, without pulling, she is learning fast with positive reward treats and takes treats with a very soft mouth. She will need training for OFF – as she still jumps up on people in excitement.

Emma is very healthy, up to date on her shots, spayed, heartworm negative and is microchipped.

Emma is located in Berkeley.

(The foster has three other labs and a cat.)

If you are interested in sweet Emma call rescue rep Liz at 415-613-6374 or email liz@jobshopsf.com.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I
do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
