THIS SHIH TZU IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. If you are looking at this site, you probably are an animal lover. Every day we get requests to help people place dogs and cats who were found as strays, or the owners don't want them any more, or they are going to be euthanized at the shelter. We want to help all of these animals, but without more foster homes we are not able to help. If you love animals, but are not ready to take on the full responsibility of ownership, or if you can fit one more animal into your household, maybe you could foster for Animal Protection Society of Person County. We pay all vet expenses, food bills, and can provide houses and/or crates for your foster. Please consider fostering. Fostering saves lives. In order to adopt this animal or another rescue buddy, please visit our website and complete the online adoption application. Or you may email or call 336·514·8689 for more information.

About Our Rescue Group...

Animal Protection Society of Person County is a non-profit 501c3 organization. We are a group of volunteers who open our hearts and homes to the homeless, neglected, and abused animals. We rescue animals from the shelter that are in danger of being euthanized and we take in owner surrenders. We receive no public funding. Donations are our main source of income. We are always in need of more foster homes. Without our fosters, we could not function. APS is an organization which is over 20 years old and we hope to serve our area for many more years to come.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our pets are in foster homes. In order to meet them we ask that you fill out our nonbinding adoption application on our website. Our adoption coordinator will then call you to set up a time and place for you to meet the animal. We participate in several "Meet & Greet" events each year. It is possible to meet our animals at these events, but we do not bring all animals to all evens.

Our Adoption Process...

• Due to the rising cost of veterinary care, and to ensure we can continue to save animals in danger, along with providing excellent vetting care, our adoption fees range from $75 - $400 to include spay/neuter, vaccinations, heart worm test, and any medical needs the animal incurred while in our care. We operate only on contributions from our supporters and are very grateful for their support.
• Our Adoption Process:
• Complete Adoption Application
• Phone interview
• Vet reference check
• Meet with your pet of interest
A home Visit is done and the animal meets all members of your family. We require a signed contract with the adopter with an agreement to return the animal to APS if the adopter cannot continue to care for their animal
