Facts about Murphy O'Malley

  • Breed: Domestic Longhair
  • Color: Cream Or Ivory
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 8305650
  • Hair: Unknown

Murphy is a loving, snuggly, boy.  He is positive for FIV, but please don't let that stop you from coming in to meet him.  FIV can only be spread to other cats, so there is no risk to humans or dogs.  FIV-positive cats can have normal lifespans if they're kept indoors, given a quality diet, and receive regular vet check-ups.

Murphy came to RMFR from our partner shelter in Pampa, TX. He was born in 2010, which makes him roughly six years old. He is a big sweet fluffy boy with soulful green eyes! Murphy is pretty much a lounger, but he does enjoy chasing feather toys, too! He is not the biggest fan of other cats, but he would probably do okay with a mellow and respectful kitty brother or sister.

Cathy, a long-time volunteer and good friend of Murphy's, has this to say about him:

I love this guy!! He's a beautiful long haired buff-colored boy. Very gentle in nature. He will follow you around looking for some attention, but he stays at the back of the pack. Seems like a very laid back kind of fellow -- I've never seen him get into any kind of altercation with the other cats.
