Facts about Nina

  • Breed: Domestic Mediumhair
  • Color: Black & White Or Tuxedo
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Medium
DOB July 10, 2013.

Although somewhat nervous and shy, fluffy Nina shows promise that she will blossom into a loving companion with a patient, experienced owner. She has earned the nickname “Lady” because of her regal poise and nature. She will sit patiently in another room and wait for her canned food to be brought to her, rather than come asking for it. She also loves Temptations treats. She is very low maintenance, but likes to be talked to when passing by her in a hallway or in a room. She will sometimes respond with more of a kitten-like “chirp” which makes her all the more adorable.

In a home environment, Nina mainly likes to keep to herself and her feline companions. Nina loves to play with kittens and one of her favourite past times is to hunt the laser pointer. Nina has lived in a foster home that has other cats of all ages, and dogs. While she is tolerant of the canine residents, she would do best in a home without them. It is not known if she will like small children, so it would be better if she went to a home with adults only.

While she would be fine on her own, Nina would benefit more if she had a feline friend in her home to continue helping her adapt and socialize. She will be a great addition to any family - she needs time, love and treats! Please open your heart and home to this fluffy little lady.

***ALL cats over 8 months of age have a reduced adoption fee of $100 for the month of August 2016!!***

Toronto Cat Rescue is a registered, no-kill charity run by volunteers.

Our registered charity number: 889-198-727-RR-0001

Our Adoption Process...

Decided on the cat or kitten you would like to adopt? Please call 416-538-8592, or email

An adoption counsellor will return your call and give you more details about the cat you are interested in and ask some questions about your home to make sure the cat will be a "purr-fect" fit. We are happy to answer any questions you may have as well.

You will be supplied with the foster home address to have a meet and greet with your kitty. If both parties are happy, you can sign the TCR Contract of Adoption, pay the adoption fee and take your cat home with you in a safe carrying case.

Adoption fee is $175 per cat. This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. It includes 6 weeks of free pet insurance. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

1. ALL senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopters choice, vs. our standard adoption fee of $175.

2. Our adoption fee for a bonded pair is $100 per cat, vs. $175 per cat.
